Abstract

The historical poems of Ships in Bottles by Neil Curry give the chance of reflecting on the possible validity of the great man theory. There is a contrast between the disregard that Carlyle´s contribution currently has with its follow-up in other fields, such as business or politics. In the case of poetry, the selected poems show how the great actants of history coexist with the people who make the microhistory.
