The authors explore the tracks left by the c-section scar guided by Jeanne Marie Gagnebin’s, “O rastro e a cicatriz: metáforas da memória” [The track and the scar: metaphors of memory ] (2002). From the perspective of Walter Benjamin’s theory of narrative, Gagnebin draws on the story of the scar of Ulysses to demonstrate a tradition perpetuated. We aim at drawing a parallel between the scar of Ulysses and the c-section scar in the light of birth stories, in which we find plenitude and trauma, loss and recovery of the ability to narrate.</div>}, number={1}, journal={MEDICA REVIEW.
